| 58.16. They take their oaths as a covering (to screen their misdeeds and themselves from accusation), and bar (people) from God's way. Therefore, there is for them a humiliating punishment. |

اتَّخَذُوا أَيْمَانَهُمْ جُنَّةً فَصَدُّوا عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُّهِينٌ 16. They take their oaths as a covering (to screen their misdeeds and themselves from accusation), and bar (people) from God's way. Therefore, there is for them a humiliating punishment.
